Wesley Nation from Australia

Dear Luong,

Please find attached the completed questionnaire. Sorry that it has taken me so long to complete. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Vietnam and would gladly recommend your travel agency to others!

We so enjoyed the trip that we plan to return some time and we will definetly use your travel company again!

Regards

Nicole Pilcher and Wesley Nation

  1. Guide (s):

Mr. Son (North of Vietnam): Mr Son was very friendly and sociable. He spoke good English. He was an informative and helpful tour guide. He was punctual in collecting us.

Mr. Hai (Centre of Vietnam): Mr Hai was very knowledgeable and we learnt a lot from him about Vietnamese history. He spoke excellent English. He was punctual in collecting us, always arriving before the arranged meeting time.

Mr. Nguyen (South of Vietnam): Mr Nguyen was a friendly tour guide. He spoke good English. He was punctual in collecting us but rushed us through the various tourist attractions. He crammed a whole days worth of activities into one morning.

Tiger: A tour guide called Tiger took us to the Mekong Delta. He spoke good English and was very knowledgeable, teaching us a lot about Vietnamese history. However, he did make us wait for him at one of the stops (we waited while he ate breakfast)

  1. Accommodation:

Nikko Hotel (In Hanoi): Excellent hotel. The accommodation was luxurious. The buffet breakfast was delicious, offering a wide variety of different dishes! A pity that it isn’t located closer to the city centre.

Victoria Hotel (In Sapa): Excellent hotel – tucked away in a beautiful location on the top of the hill. The room was luxurious and the food delicious.

Halong Plaza Hotel (In Ha Long): Comfortable hotel. Very large room. Food not as good as previous two hotels.

Saigon Morin Hotel (In Hue): Charming hotel. Has beautiful outdoor dining area and swimming pool. Well located in the heart of the city. Delicious buffet breakfast served in the beautiful garden area.

Palm Garden Resort (In Hoi An): Thoroughly enjoyed the resort. Strolled through the beautiful gardens and enjoyed the wonderful facilities – even enjoyed some pool and table tennis games with the gym supervisors. Disappointed with the bathroom – very poorly designed and dangerous. Bathroom flooded every time one showered due to the fact that there wasn’t any shower curtain or shower cubicle. This made going into the bathroom very hazardous – very easy to slip and fall. Horrified that the hairdryer was in this “floodable” bathroom. This poses a real electrocution risk!

Yasaka Hotel (In Nha Trang): The least impressive hotel that we stayed at. Buffet breakfast was of a very poor quality. Room was adequate. When we arrived, we noticed that the bedroom had a carpet stain. Reported this to management on three occasions – no one came to clean it. Wouldn’t stay here again.

Equatorial Hotel (In Ho Chi Minh City): Excellent hotel. The accommodation was luxurious. The buffet breakfast was delicious, offering a wide variety of different dishes! A pity that it isn’t located closer to the city centre.

  1. Transport (Land, water and air):

All motor vehicles were very comfortable. Air travel was comfortable and well-organised. Boat travel was enjoyable.

  1. Restaurants:

General Comments:

Before we departed for Vietnam, we specified that we do not eat seafood. Frequently when we were in central Vietnam and the south, we were offered seafood for lunch and we explained that we had already specified that we don’t eat seafood.

We did not enjoy being served French fries for some of the courses in central and southern Vietnam. More traditional Vietnamese cuisine would have been more appropriate.

In the North:

  • Indochine – delicious cuisine
  • Viet Kitchen – delicious cuisine
  • Letonkin – delicious cuisine
  • Hanoi Marina – big buffet lunch. Food was adequate but wouldn’t want to eat there again.
  • Lunch on boat at Halong Bay – delicious cuisine.

In Sapa:

  • Local restaurant for breakfast and lunch in Lao Cai. Inadequate breakfast comprising bread; jam and oily omelette. Lunch was hot pot – chicken was tough and inedible.
  • Royal View – lovely views of Sapa. Excellent cuisine.
  • Luu Ly – delicious cuisine. Pumpkin soup starter was superb.

In the Centre:

  • Thanh Tam – Adequate (after menu had to be changed due to not eating seafood). Forgot to serve us dessert.
  • Apsara – Good food (again, menu had to be changed due to not eating seafood).

In the South:

  • Blue Ginger – good food (again, menu had to be changed due to not eating seafood).
  • Garden House – delicious cuisine.
  1. Places you visited:

Enjoyed all places visited.

Particularly enjoyed Minh Mang Tombs – stunning location and a must see!

  1. Design and management of your tour:

Very well designed tour. Travelling from North to South is recommended. Excellently managed. No hitches. Drivers and guides were punctual. Would highly recommend travelling with Gia Linh travel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. Are there any recommendations or criticisms of services, restaurants, shops, visit sites and so on that you’ve visited on your own?

Don’t recommend visiting the Reunification Palace in Ho Chi Minh City. Not much to see.
