Hanoi – Hoa Binh – Mai Chau – Hang Kia – Phu Mau

Travel to Mai Chau, a quiet friendly place to join lots of trekking to the villages of Vietnam’s ethnic people for admiration of dreamy landscape and charming life. Walk around the Poom Coom and Lac village to visit the house on stilt of Thai people, you’ll then trek up the mountain to the village of Muong people. The hiking to Hang Kia village – home of Black H’mong people will serve you a new unique taste of another ethnic group’s lifestyle in Vietnam

Destination: Hanoi – Hoa Binh – Mai Chau – Hang Kia – Phu Mau

Code: B = Breakfast, L = Lunch, D = Dinner, G = Guide   

Day 1: Hanoi/Mai Chau/Phu Mau (L, D, G)

8.00 – 12.00: Drive to Hoa Binh Town, on the way you’ll stop to visit Muong Ethnic Group.

12.00 – 13.00: Lunch at the stilt house of Thai people in Mai Chau

13.00 – 14.30: You’ll walk around the Poom Coom village and Lac village to visit the house on stilt of Thai people.

14.30 – 15.00: Drive to the Old high way to Son La and stop at KM 13.

15.00 – 17.00: Start trekking around 7km up to the slope. En route at another Thai village.

You’ll spend the night at the Phu Mau 2 village.

Day 2: Phu Mau/Na Pai/Pa Co/Hang Kia (B, L, D, G)

7.30 – 8.00: Breakfast at the house on stilt

8.00 – 10.00: Trek up the mountain about 4km to Na Pai village, a village of Muong people.

10.00 – 13.00: You’ll continue trekking about 8km to the main road where you’ll take a short walk 3km to Pa Co.

13.00 – 14.00: You’ll have picnic lunch at Pa Co.

14.00 – 16.30: You’ll trek up the slope to Hang Kia village, a village of Black H’mong people.

Your guide will prepare dinner for you at Hang Kia village.

You’ll spend the night in Hang Kia.

Day 3: Hang Kia/Bao La (B, L, G)

7.30 – 8.00: Breakfast at the house of Black H’mong people

8.00 – 10.00: Trek about 6km to Bao La village

10.00 – 12.00: Continue trekking to the main road. You’ll have picnic lunch on the ­ay.

14.00 -17.00: continue trekking to explore Bao La village.

You’ll spend the night in Bao La.

Day 4: Bao La/Mai Chau/Hanoi (B, L, G)

7.30 – 8.00: Breakfast

8.00 – 12.00: Trek about 8km to Sam Khoe. Your car then will pick you from the Sam Khoe to Mai Chau for lunch.

14.00 – 17.00: You’ll drive to Hanoi. End of your tour in Hanoi.

Price in US$ per person:

Prices include:

  • Breakfast and accommodation in house on stilt.

  • Travel by private, air-conditioned vehicle with an experienced driver.

  • Experienced English-speaking tour guide as indicated in the itinerary.

  • Entry fees for all sightseeing as mentioned in the programme.

  • Lunches and dinners, as specified, picnic lunch where suitable.

  • Government Taxes.

Price do not include:

  • Drinks, gratuities and personal expenses.

  • Insurance.

  • Phu Mau 2: House on stilt of Thai people (clean and basic accommodation)
  • Hang Kia: House of Black H’mong people.
  • Bao La: House of Thai people.
