Alan Smith from Australia

Hi Luong,

We arrived safely back in Sydney on Saturday after a rather tight connection in HCM from Hue. Unfortunately the plane from Hue was running over 30mins late so we had to run from the domestic to the International terminal after waiting nearly 20 mins for our bags! However we just made it in time. Besides this everything else on the 14 day schedule went very well.

Again I would like to personally thank you for putting together a very good itinerary, supplying very knowledgeable and interesting guides, timely transfers, good hotels and meals and keeping in touch. Also thank you again for your very kind gift and allowing Mr Son to buy us beer on our last day in Hanoi.

Brian and I had a great time and really enjoyed visiting both Vietnam & Cambodia. You live in a fascinating country with an interesting history, great cultural diversity, great food and very friendly people. All of your guides were very helpful, spoke good English and had a sense of humour which added to the enjoyment of our tour. Can you please pass on our thanks and appreciation to all of them and their drivers. I understand that Mr Thuong in Hue is new to you- again his knowledge about the area and the overall history of Vietnam was excellent. He also had very interesting 1st hand information about the Vietnam War (as being older he had been directly involved).

We have no hesitation in recommending you and your company to anybody interested in visiting the Vietnam region. We are also happy to give you more detailed feedback on each of the hotels, etc if required.

I think you have a very good internet travel business and your level of personal service is first class. If I can help you in any way to promote it more widely in Australia or elsewhere please don’t hesitate to stay in touch. As most of my professional work experience is in direct marketing/advertising consulting I know how valuable customer service is and the power of the testimonial and word of mouth.

Once again thank you for a wonderful experience.

Best Regards,

Alan.

Mr. Son (Guide in the North of Vietnam): Excellent- great sense of humour/fun, helpful and informative.

Ms. Gom?? (sounds like Chow??!-Guide in Sapa –Cuong Huong Co)- Excellent-Being a local she knew a lot of people while trekking which made it very interesting. She was very friendly, fun and very informative.

  1. Accommodation:

Le Duy Hotel (In Saigon) – Good.

Casa Angkor Hotel (in Siem Reap)- Excellent with good facilities.

Kim Tuc Hotel (In Hanoi): – Adequate- b’fast area very small. But good location.

Thai Binh Hotel (in Sapa):- Adequate- Had to wait over an hour to get into room and the owner was not that friendly to our guide.

Bien Ngoc Boat (In Halong Bay): Excellent.

Thien Thanh Hotel (in Hoi An): Excellent with very friendly and helpful front desk staff.

Camelia Hotel (in Hue): Excellent with good facilities. Also allowed us to have showers after we checked out.

  1. Transport (Land, water, and air):

Most of the cars/vans were comfortable. The only unpleasant trip was the 4 hour van tour to the Sapa markets on very rough and dusty roads. The train to and from Sapa wasn’t great- carriage a bit old and pillows dirty! The toilets were flooded and we didn’t get a lot of sleep. Last flight from Hue was very delayed with no announcements which mean’t that we nearly missed our connecting International flight!

  1. Restaurants:

In the South of Vietnam: All the food throughout the trip was excellent!!.

In Siem Reap:

In the North of Vietnam:

In the Centre of Vietnam:

  1. Places you visited:

.Most of the places we visited were very interesting. Probably could of missed the Lacquer workshop and the Stone Carving Village which were a bit commercial.

  1. Design and management of your tour: Fabulous!!-

The final schedule was great. Only wished we could have had more days to have done the Mekong! The rain in the last 3 days also made it harder to get around Hoi An and Hue which was a shame but didn’t stop us seeing things.

  1. Are there any recommendations or criticisms of services, restaurants, shops, visit sites and so on that you’ve visited on your own?

No- most of the local people were very friendly and helpful.
